Penambahan Panel Solar Collector Dengan Sirip Pada Basin Solar Still Untuk Meningkatkan Efisiensi

Abstract

Air adalah sumber bagi kelangsungan hidup bagi umat manusia untuk kegiatan sehari-harinya. dan karena peningkatanpenduduk perkotaan sumber daya air menyusut. Sekitar 97% dari air yang tersedia di permukaan bumi adalah asin dan 2% dari air adalah dalam bentuk topi es di wilayah kutub. Kehidupan di bumi hanya terdapat 1% air tawar  sedangkan permintaan air tawar segar semakin meningkat dari hari ke hari. Oleh karena itu, untuk memenuhi permintaan air segar yang semakin banyak, sehingga ada kebutuhan untuk mengubah air laut asin menjadi air minum untuk memenuhi kebutuhan ini. Menjawab  permasalahan ini salah satunya adalah menerapkan teknologi sederhana untuk mengolah air laut menjadi air tawar dan layak konsumsi dan ramah lingkungan, dengan memanfaatkan energi matahari yaitu dengan destilator surya (basin solar still). Pengembangan dan penelitian untuk teknologi ini telah banyak dilakukan di dunia, semua adalah untuk tujuan yang sama yaitu meningkatkan efisiensi dari teknologi ini. Permasalahan ini bisa dirangkum yang pertama adalah berapa besar efisiensi basin solar still dengan desain penambahan panel solar collector dengan sirip yang difungsikan sebagai penambah panas dalam basin  dan kedua apakah efisiensinya lebih baik dibandingkan dengan desain tanpa panel solar collector dengan sirip. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah eksperemen dengan menguji dua prototipe yang menggunakan panel solar collector dengan sirip dan yang tidak menggunakan sebagai pembanding. Variabel data yang diuji dengan statistik adalah temperatur yang terukur di bawah heat absorber yang kemudian diolah dengan uji statistik t-Test Paired Sample for Means. Hasil penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa dari uji t t-Test Paired Sample for Means ada perbedaan yang siginifikan dari kedua prototip. Efisiensi yang didapat dengan desain penambahan panel solar collector dengan sirip adalah 48,8374% sedangkan yang tanpa desain penambahan panel solar collector dengan sirip 36,6704%, maka terjadi peningkatan efisiensi sebanyak 12,47 % lebih baik pada basin dengan desain penambahan panel solar collector dengan sirip.
