Abstract

Some studies about higher education rankings based on webometric have been done in
Indonesia. Especially regarding the effect of the website and the website impact factor.
However, the deep study on webometric analysis for public universities in Indonesia is
limited. Therefore, this study analyzes the website of 30 public universities in Indonesia
which consist of universities, institutes, and polytechnics under the Ministry of Research
Technology and Higher Education. The university websites are analyzed and compared
using AltaVista and are sorted according webometric indicators. The analysis revealed
that some higher educations have a high number of websites but the website link page is
limited so that the website's overall impact factor is low. This study discuss and provide
