Abstract

Rice husk biomass is abundant in Indonesia, it is becoming one of the sources of energy,
especially for the cook in the household. This research aims to obtain rice husk stove
models. Modifications done at the top of the combustion chamber as the fuel supply is
called the hopper.

The method used is conducting experiments stove to boil water (Water Boiling Test).
Using water as much as 1.5 liters and a mass of 1.0 kg of rice husk.
The variable in this research is the air speed is 2 m/s, 2.5 m/s, 3 m/s, 3.5 m/s, and then do
a variation of the addition of rice husk is 200 gr, 250 gr, 300 gr, 350 gr.
The parameters analyzed were 1)effect of air velocity variations on fuel consumption,

2)the effect of variations in adding fuel to the operating time, 3)effect of adding fuel to the
efficiency.

The results of research showed that the effect of air velocity variation increase the rate of
fuel consumption from 0.66 kg/hour to 1.22 kg/hour. The effect adding of rice husk fuel
burner increase operating time from 17% to 35%. The Best efficiency rice husk stove is

20.07% obtained air velocity 3.0 m/s and adding 350 grams of rice husk fuel.
