Abstract

Deformation measurements using the reflectorless total station is one method that is being developed to ease monitoring activities of the underground mine tunnel that have large enough dimensions, difficult to reach by other monitoring equipment and mining activities can hinder collecting monitoring data.

This study observe the value, direction and rate of deformation on the walls and roof of active silldrift which is considered to have a huge loading due to the influence of silldrift above at the level, that have  partly was backfill with concrete reinforcement on the floor and some still hollow. The observation sill drift have supporting system by a combination of friction bolt, weld mesh and shotcrete.

Deformation  measurements  method  uses  the  basic  principle  for  determining  the
coordinates of a point with two point belt. The amount of deformation can be calculated
from the difference in the coordinates of each of observational data at the time of
measurements, the direction of deformation calculated using trigonometry method, and
taking into account the duration of the measurement interval then the rate of deformation
can be predicted.  The results of the analysis of the resultant cumulative deformation that
occurs very large with an average of 218 mm with the resultant trend revolves around the
direction Y105o - 288oX  and plunge ranges between 36o - 79o . The average rate of
deformation 20mm/day.
