Abstract

The development of technology has increased rapidly, many innovations have been done so
that the process of creation and development of a product more easily. In the scope of the
college, course of machine elements is one of the compulsory subjects in the Department of
Mechanical Engineering. But in fact, the ability of practitioners and students to understand
and master planning of the machine element is still very low. It Required an effort and aids in
understanding and designing a product from process planning to the calculation process that
is easy, fast and interactive, and it will help anyone both practitioners and students of the
Department of Mechanical Engineering in designing and planning a product based on
calculation of machine elements right, where this calculation is based on the calculation and
planning of machine elements that are taught in the Department of Mechanical Engineering.
The results of this study are engineering software applications which might be expected to
help students of Mechanical Engineering in understanding and doing the calculations
correctly according to the flow chart correct calculation of machine elements, which is
expected to come to give effect to the understanding of the lecture courses in the Department
of Mechanical Engineering. The application also has advantages including the ability to reset
the input variable, the ability to store the calculation results in the form of output files,
minimizing input parameters are incorrect, display a message on calculations that are not
safe, as well as provides results of calculations quickly and accurately.
