THEORETICAL AND PRACTICAL STUDIES ON THE USE OF 100AH BATTERY AS AN EMERGENCY ELECTRICAL SOURCE REVIEWED FROM USAGE TIME

Abstract

The availability of the electricity in North Maluku evenly constrained in its generator source is not yet well integrated. Besides its territory in the form of islands complicates the installation of the network as a whole. The use of diesel generators in remote areas on the island of Halmahera and surrounding areas caused power outages to be something that is difficult to avoid. Therefore, people, especially those heavily dependent electricity supply for their daily activities require a backup energy system as an emergency energy source due to the blackout.

It has been has conducted research the use of battery 12 V 100 AH as an emergency energy source. The use of this battery as an alternative to the use of generators that have been commonly used by the society. Battery charging is done with an adapter for a certain period during the electricity is on. In the event of a blackout, the battery coupled with a DC to AC inverter is used as an emergency power source. The study was conducted by measuring and recording voltage and current generated, time of use can be achieved until the battery runs out on a variety of electrical equipment.

From the research found that the battery could ignite a desktop computer for 9 hours or laptop battery charging 15 times until it is full. The use of a battery as an emergency alternative energy is technically better than the generator on equipment requiring good voltage stability such as PCs and laptops. Therefore, this system is very suitable for people living in areas where the electricity network is still frequent power outages
